Calcined coke
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001569
Coke that has undergone a high-temperature heat treatment process, typically above 1200 degrees Celsius, in a rotary kiln or similar furnace. This treatment removes residual volatile matter and moisture, densifies the material, and improves its electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. Calcined coke is primarily used as an anode material in aluminum smelting and in the production of carbon electrodes.
