Hematoma

A localized collection of blood outside blood vessels, usually clotted or partly clotted, that forms within a tissue, organ or body space after a vessel wall is torn or leaks. Causes include trauma, defective clotting and drugs that suppress clotting. An epidural hematoma in the skull lies between the dura mater and the bone.
