Polyvinyl halide

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009257

A polymer containing a halogen atom directly attached to the carbon chain of the polymer backbone, derived from the polymerization of vinyl halide monomers. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the most prominent example, formed from vinyl chloride. These polymers are extensively used in construction, piping, and electrical insulation.
