Polyvinyl acetal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009254
A polymer formed by the reaction of polyvinyl alcohol with an aldehyde, resulting in acetal linkages along the polymer backbone. The most common example is polyvinyl butyral, formed with butyraldehyde. These polymers are often used as interlayers in safety glass due to their adhesion and optical clarity.
