Polyuria

The excessive or abnormally large production and passage of urine. It is a classic symptom of conditions like diabetes mellitus, where high blood glucose leads to excess glucose in the urine, and diabetes insipidus, which involves hormonal dysregulation of water reabsorption in the kidneys. For an adult, polyuria is clinically defined as a urine output exceeding 3 liters per 24 hours.
