Sulfamic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013612
Amides of sulfuric acid of the type R-NH-SO2-OH, among them the parent H2N-SO2-OH. In water the parent, sulfamic acid, is a strong acid with a pKa near 1, and in the solid state it exists as the zwitterion H3N+SO3-. It is widely used as a descaling agent and as a primary standard for acidimetry.
