Sulfanes

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011545

Compounds consisting of chains of sulfur atoms terminated by hydrogen atoms, with the general formula H2Sn. These are analogous to alkanes but with sulfur atoms replacing carbon atoms in the backbone. The simplest member is hydrogen sulfide, H2S, and longer chains are known as polysulfanes.
