Nitrosamides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007968
Organic compounds containing a nitroso group (-NO) attached to the nitrogen atom of an amide functional group (R-CO-N(R')-NO). These compounds are often unstable and can decompose to generate diazonium ions or other reactive species. They are sometimes used as precursors for the synthesis of other nitrogen-containing compounds.
