Nitrosimines
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007970
Organic compounds characterized by the presence of a nitroso group (-NO) attached to an imine nitrogen, with the general structure R2C=N-NO. These compounds are formally derived from imines by the substitution of a hydrogen atom on the imine nitrogen with a nitroso group. They are distinct from nitrosamines, where the nitroso group is attached to an amine nitrogen.
