Nitrosative stress
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007969
A condition characterized by an imbalance between the production of reactive nitrogen species and the ability of a biological system to detoxify them. This imbalance leads to cellular damage through nitration of proteins, lipids, and DNA. Nitrosative stress is implicated in the pathology of numerous diseases, including neurodegenerative and cardiovascular disorders.
