Sulfinic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011557
Organic compounds containing the -S(O)OH functional group, where sulfur is directly bonded to an organic residue and a sulfinyl hydroxyl group. These acids are stronger than carboxylic acids but weaker than sulfonic acids. They are typically prepared by the reduction of sulfonyl chlorides or oxidation of thiols.
