Selenonic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013539
Organic compounds containing the -SeO3H functional group, where selenium is in its highest oxidation state. These are selenium analogues of sulfonic acids and are strong acids. They are typically prepared by the oxidation of seleninic acids or diselenides and find use in organic synthesis as oxidizing agents or catalysts.
