Selenides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013538
Organic compounds containing a selenium atom bonded to two organic groups, with the general formula R-Se-R'. They are the selenium analogues of ethers and sulfides. Selenides are often used in organic synthesis and can exhibit unique reactivity due to the larger size and lower electronegativity of selenium compared to oxygen or sulfur.
