Thioethers
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012012
Organic compounds containing a sulfur atom bonded to two alkyl or aryl groups, forming a C-S-C linkage. These compounds are the sulfur analogues of ethers, where an oxygen atom is replaced by a sulfur atom. They are also known as sulfides and can be oxidized to sulfoxides and sulfones.
