Tellurides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011843
Organic compounds containing a tellurium atom bonded to two organic groups, with the general structure R-Te-R' where R and R' are hydrocarbyl groups. They are the tellurium analogues of ethers and sulfides. Tellurides are known for their unpleasant odors and are often used as precursors in organometallic chemistry and materials science for synthesizing tellurium-containing semiconductors.
