Selones
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010718
Organic compounds containing a carbon-selenium double bond, analogous to ketones where the oxygen atom is replaced by a selenium atom. They have the general formula R2C=Se, where R represents organic substituents. These compounds are generally less stable and more reactive than their oxygen analogues, ketones, due to the weaker C=Se bond.
