Thioketones
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012015
Organic compounds that are sulfur analogues of ketones, where the carbonyl oxygen atom is replaced by a sulfur atom, resulting in a carbon-sulfur double bond (R2C=S). They are generally less stable and more reactive than their oxygen counterparts. Thiobenzophenone is a well-known example of a stable thioketone.
