Sulfenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011548
Highly reactive, transient organic compounds containing a sulfur atom double-bonded to a carbon atom and also double-bonded to an oxygen atom, with the general formula R2C=SO2. They are analogous to ketenes but with a sulfur dioxide group. Sulfenes are typically generated in situ and undergo rapid cycloaddition reactions.
