Heterocumulenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005234
Organic compounds characterized by a chain of three or more cumulatively double-bonded atoms, where at least one of these atoms is a heteroatom such as nitrogen, oxygen, or sulfur. These compounds possess a linear or nearly linear geometry around the cumulene chain. Examples include ketenes (C=C=O) and isocyanates (N=C=O).
