Isothiocyanates
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006225
Organic compounds characterized by the functional group -N=C=S, where a nitrogen atom is double-bonded to a carbon atom, which is also double-bonded to a sulfur atom. These compounds are structurally similar to isocyanates but with sulfur replacing oxygen. Many naturally occurring isothiocyanates are found in cruciferous vegetables.
