Sulfenamides

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011547

Organic compounds characterized by the presence of a sulfur-nitrogen single bond, with the general formula R-S-NR'R''. These compounds are derivatives of sulfenic acids where the hydroxyl group is replaced by an amino group. Sulfenamides are often used as intermediates in organic synthesis and as vulcanization accelerators in the rubber industry.
