Sulfimides

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011554

Compounds characterized by a sulfur-nitrogen double bond, typically with the general structure R2S=NR', where R and R' are organic groups. These are also known as sulfilimines. Sulfimides are polar compounds that can act as nucleophiles or electrophiles depending on the substituents and reaction conditions, and they are used in organic synthesis.
