Isoureas
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006269
Organic compounds characterized by the general structure R-O-C(=NR')-NR''R''', where R, R', R'', and R''' represent hydrocarbyl groups or hydrogen atoms. These compounds are isomers of ureas, with the oxygen atom of the carbonyl group in urea being replaced by an oxygen atom that is part of an ether linkage. Isoureas can exist in tautomeric forms and are often encountered as intermediates in synthetic organic chemistry.
