Aldimines

Imines derived from aldehydes, possessing a carbon-nitrogen double bond (C=N) where the carbon atom is also bonded to a hydrogen atom and an organic group. They are formed by the condensation of an aldehyde with a primary amine. These compounds are also known as Schiff bases.
