Skeletal bond
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010924
A covalent bond connecting two skeletal atoms within the main chain or backbone of a polymer molecule. These bonds form the continuous sequence that defines the polymer's primary structure, excluding bonds within pendant groups. The nature and arrangement of skeletal bonds determine the flexibility and conformational properties of the polymer chain.
