Krypton ion laser
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006386
A type of gas laser that uses ionized krypton as the active medium to produce coherent light. It operates by exciting krypton atoms to higher energy states, which then undergo stimulated emission to generate laser light at several discrete wavelengths, primarily in the visible spectrum. These lasers are often used in scientific research and entertainment applications.
