Organic carbon partition coefficient
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008309
A measure of the tendency of a chemical to partition between organic carbon in soil or sediment and water. It is expressed as the ratio of the chemical's concentration in organic carbon to its concentration in water. This coefficient, often denoted as KOC, is a key parameter in environmental fate modeling for predicting chemical mobility and bioavailability.
