Permeability coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008667

A quantitative measure of the rate at which a substance can pass through a barrier, such as a biological membrane or a material. It reflects both the diffusion coefficient of the substance within the barrier and its partition coefficient between the barrier and the surrounding medium. This coefficient is typically expressed in units of length per unit time, such as cm/s.
