Translational diffusion coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012248

A quantitative measure of the rate at which molecules or particles undergo translational diffusion in a given medium. It describes the proportionality between the flux of particles and the concentration gradient. This coefficient is typically expressed in units of square meters per second (m²/s) and is dependent on the size and shape of the diffusing species, as well as the viscosity and temperature of the medium.
