Chemical diffusion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001943
The net transport of chemical species within a material driven by a concentration gradient, resulting in a change in the local chemical composition. This process involves the movement of atoms or molecules from regions of higher concentration to regions of lower concentration. The rate of chemical diffusion is quantified by the chemical diffusion coefficient, which depends on temperature and composition.
