Chemical dosimeter
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001944
A system that measures absorbed dose of ionizing radiation from the extent of a radiation-induced chemical change under specified conditions. The amount of product formed or reactant consumed is proportional to the absorbed dose over the working range and is converted to dose through a known radiation chemical yield, the G value. The Fricke dosimeter oxidizes ferrous ions to ferric ions in acidic aerated solution and covers about 20 to 400 Gy.
