Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004421

A personal dosimeter consisting of a small piece of photographic film encased in a light-tight holder, worn by individuals to monitor their exposure to ionizing radiation. The degree of film blackening after development is proportional to the absorbed radiation dose. Film badges are a common method for occupational radiation monitoring in environments where radiation exposure is a concern.
