Penetrant
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008595
A substance in the fluid phase that diffuses into a solid or liquid, such as a polymer membrane. The movement of the penetrant is driven by a concentration gradient or a pressure difference across the material. The rate of this process is quantified by the diffusion coefficient.
