Soil partition coefficient
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010973
The ratio of the concentration of a chemical adsorbed to soil particles to its concentration in the soil pore water at equilibrium. This coefficient quantifies the tendency of a substance to bind to soil rather than remain dissolved in the aqueous phase. It is often expressed as Kp (L/kg) and is a key parameter in environmental fate modeling.
