Lasing
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006469
The process by which a laser generates coherent light through stimulated emission. It involves achieving a population inversion, where more atoms or molecules are in an excited state than in a lower energy state, allowing for the amplification of light. Lasing occurs when the gain from stimulated emission exceeds the losses within the optical resonator.
