Stimulated Raman scattering
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011419
A non-linear optical process where an intense pump laser beam and a Stokes laser beam interact with a sample, leading to an amplification of the Stokes signal. This occurs when the frequency difference between the two lasers matches a vibrational mode of the molecule. The technique offers enhanced sensitivity compared to spontaneous Raman scattering.
