Inverse Raman scattering

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006054

A nonlinear optical phenomenon where a strong pump beam and a weaker probe beam interact with a sample, causing the probe beam to lose energy at frequencies corresponding to Raman-active vibrational modes. This energy loss is observed as a dip in the probe beam's spectrum. It provides high-resolution vibrational spectra.
