Inverse spatially offset Raman spectroscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006055

A variant of spatially offset Raman spectroscopy that illuminates the sample with a ring-shaped laser pattern and gathers the Raman signal from the middle of that ring. Enlarging the ring increases the spatial offset, which raises the share of signal from deeper layers of turbid media such as tissue or packaging. The ring also spreads the laser power over a larger area than a single spot, which lowers local heating.
