Spatially offset Raman spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011081
A variant of Raman spectroscopy that acquires spectral information from subsurface layers of a sample by offsetting the collection point of the scattered light from the illumination point. This technique allows for depth profiling and the analysis of materials beneath an opaque or turbid surface. The spatial offset can be varied to probe different depths within the sample.
