Resonance Raman scattering
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010257
A spectroscopic phenomenon where the intensity of Raman scattered light is significantly enhanced when the excitation laser wavelength is close to an electronic absorption band of the molecule. This enhancement allows for the selective detection of specific chromophores within a complex sample. The effect can increase Raman signal intensities by several orders of magnitude.
