Resonance reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010258
A nuclear reaction that occurs with a significantly enhanced probability when the energy of the incident particle matches a specific energy level of the compound nucleus formed. This leads to a sharp increase in the reaction cross-section at particular incident energies. Such reactions are characterized by a narrow energy width.
