Surface plasmon resonance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011657
A phenomenon involving the resonant excitation of surface plasmons by incident light, typically at a metal-dielectric interface. This resonance occurs at a specific angle of incidence or wavelength, leading to a sharp dip in the reflected light intensity. It is widely used in biosensing for label-free detection of molecular binding events.
