Label-free assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006399
An analytical method that measures molecular interactions or cellular responses without the need for fluorescent, radioactive, or enzymatic labels on the molecules being studied. These assays often rely on changes in physical properties, such as mass, refractive index, or electrical impedance. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is a common label-free detection technique.
