Toxicogenetics

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012171

The study of how genetic variations among individuals influence their susceptibility to the effects of toxic substances. This field investigates the role of inherited genetic differences in determining an organism's response to chemical exposure. Such variations can affect the metabolism, transport, or target interaction of toxicants.
