Susceptibility

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011695

The inherent sensitivity of an organism or population to the adverse effects of a chemical or environmental stressor. This characteristic determines the degree to which an individual or group will be harmed by exposure to a toxic agent. Susceptibility can vary significantly among species, populations, and even individuals due to genetic, physiological, or environmental factors.
