Magnetic susceptibility
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006912
A dimensionless proportionality constant that indicates the degree to which a material can be magnetized in response to an applied magnetic field. It describes how a material modifies an external magnetic field. Diamagnetic materials have negative susceptibility, while paramagnetic and ferromagnetic materials have positive susceptibility.
