Thermomagnetometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011974

A thermal analysis method that measures the magnetic properties of a substance as a function of temperature. The sample is heated or cooled according to a defined temperature program, and changes in its magnetization or magnetic susceptibility are monitored. This technique is applied to characterize magnetic transitions, such as the Curie or Néel temperature, and to study magnetic materials.
