Thermolysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011973
The chemical decomposition of a compound induced solely by heat, without the involvement of other reagents or catalysts. This process typically involves the breaking of chemical bonds at elevated temperatures. Thermolysis is a common method for generating reactive intermediates or for breaking down complex molecules into simpler ones.
