Species differences in sensitivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011089
The variation in the response of different species when exposed to the same concentration of a specific toxicant or environmental stressor. This variability arises from physiological, metabolic, and genetic differences, leading to different levels of susceptibility. For example, one species might show high mortality at a chemical concentration that has no observable effect on another, a key consideration in ecological risk assessment.
