Age sensitivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000325
The differential susceptibility of an organism to the toxic effects of a substance based on its developmental stage or chronological age. Younger and older individuals frequently exhibit heightened sensitivity due to differences in metabolic capacity, immune function, or target organ development. This factor is considered in toxicology studies and risk assessments to protect vulnerable populations.
